Each family has a history rich with stories and traditions. In the Hensley family it is the tradition of fiddle making and fiddle playing. Passed on for over five generations family members still consider it essential in the family life. Violet Hensley was the first female in her family to make fiddles and play them. Now the tradition is passed mainly amongst her granddaughters. Not only is the fiddle important to the Hensley's but to the peoples lives it touches through them. Unbeknown to many is the history of the family and how the fiddle became important to them. The fiddle's history in this particular family dates back to the late 1800s and continues up to the year 2000.
